It can be difficult using studios, though purpose built for tracking, with ( hopefully ) ready to go sound treated rooms and all the equipment patched in ready to use, you have to get there, get your gear there, be in the right mood that day to record in a strange new place... The alternative is simple, let your neigbours know you'll be noisy for 1 or 2 days, and prepare 2 rooms for us to come down and track your music in the comfort and convienience of your home. Done wrong, the sound quality could far differ from a well treated live room, but with a few years experience and common sense, any lounge/bedroom can suffice, often offering perfect results in little time.

We bring Pro Tools, Mics, Stands, Leads etc, we can provide Amps/Drum Kits etc if required. We will arrive, set up a "live" room and "control" room, we'll sound treat the rooms non destuctivley for the duration of our stay only, and get started.

You need to provide -

A sensible venue/house. If one band member lives in the middle of nowhere with no neighbours, then use this house!

2 suitable rooms. The live room should have enough space to accomodate drums, and be acoustically suitable. We can fix a bit of unwanted ambience for example, but we can't get dry vocals in a church hall. The control room definately should be furnished, with little ambience if possible, and room for a 6 foot table/equipment. Both rooms need to be dry, and have safe mains power. It helps if the rooms are far enough apart to offer some separation from live/control rooms, for example, control room = bedroom, live room = lounge. Though we can work through any such problems.

Any instruments to be used should be at there absolute best. That means restringing guitars, basses, reskin and tuning the drums. I can't stress enough how much difference this makes.

Tea and coffee on tap!

The rest is up to us, once the tracking is complete, we'll pack up and return home to edit/mix, sending sample work via the internet as required, producing your tracks to your specifications, unless employed as producer, which we can discuss prior to booking, see Production page.

I have been doing this for years, i love studios, but if it's out of reach, we can still achieve professional results, which is by far the most important aspect of any recording project. For a chat about your requirements, just get in touch and i look forward to visiting you soon!
